Prof. Václav Hynčica died
The Department of Energy Devices regrets to announce that on January 17, 2023, former colleague prof. Ing. Václav Hynčica, CSc. died at the age of 90.
Prof. Hyncica was born on September 9. 1932. From 1969 to 1970, he worked as the head of the Institute of Thermomechanics and Technical Measurement of the then VŠST, where he also worked as a teacher in the field of heat science. In addition to his teaching activities, he worked with a number of companies dealing with the issue of heat use in the thermal processing of metals, in the production and processing of utility and decorative glass, and energy problems in the processing of textile materials.
By participating in a number of conferences and lectures, he contributed to clarifying the relationship between heat and temperature in the sense of energy intensity in production processes. In teaching practice, he lectured and tested subjects with regard to their theoretical complexity and usability in the production process. At the time of normalization in 1970, he was expelled from school and his habilitation thesis was not accepted. So he worked in industry in the field of energy. After 1989, he returned to VŠST for a short time, was rehabilitated and appointed a professor. In the period 15/05/1990 - 30/09/1991 he held the position of the head of the Department of Thermomechanics.
The funeral ceremony for Professor Hynčica will be held on Monday, January 23, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral hall in Turnov.
